Seven-year-old Ariella Nur, a second-grade student at A.L. Burruss Elementary School in Marietta, Georgia, died following a two-vehicle collision on Wednesday, October 28, 2026. Her sudden passing has left her family, classmates, teachers and the wider community grieving the loss of a young girl whose life brought happiness to those around her.

According to reports citing the Cobb County Police Department, the collision happened at approximately 7:29 p.m. at the intersection of Macland Road and Ernest Barrett Parkway. Ariella was travelling as a passenger in a red 2016 Kia Forte driven by her father, John Nur, when it collided with an eastbound blue Chevrolet Silverado as the Kia attempted to turn left. She was pronounced dead at the scene, while her father was not injured.

Ariella was a talented and active child who enjoyed taking part in activities that allowed her to express herself. She participated in her school chorus and dance team, performed with the Company Ballet at the Georgia Dance Conservancy on Marietta Square, and competed in gymnastics at the Gymnastics Academy of Atlanta. Her involvement in these activities reflected the many interests and experiences that filled her young life.

Her school community has also been deeply affected by the tragedy. A.L. Burruss Elementary School Principal Lillian Johnson informed parents of Ariella’s passing and said counsellors and additional staff members would be available to support students. Family members and loved ones have remembered her as a bubbly ray of light who touched the lives of everyone she encountered. A community fundraiser has been organised to help her family with funeral and moving expenses.

Ariella’s life was brief, but the love she shared and the memories she created will remain with those who knew her. Her family, classmates, teachers and friends now face the painful task of learning to live with her absence. May Ariella Nur rest in peace, and may her loved ones find strength, compassion and comfort as they honour the memory of their precious daughter and friend.
